In the traditions of Ayurveda and Yoga your body is seen as wise. The inherent connections between the quality of your thoughts, your emotions and your physical body is a given. In this way physical symptoms are your body’s way of speaking its mind and signposts indicating that your being is out of balance in some way. Moreover, as your body has your long-term best interests at heart, it is wise to learn how to better understand the language of your body. This course will give you the tools to start to cultivate a more accurate listening to physical symptoms and what they are trying to tell you.
The course is experiential in nature and will give you the opportunity to work with any health challenges, whether big or small, you may be facing. You will also receive practical tools to help you get back into balance and to support the process of self-understanding along the way.
You will be introduced to the three doshas (bioenergies) of Ayurveda and how they function in the physiology of the body when in balance and out of balance. You will come to understand how diseases form from the perspective of Ayurveda. We will then look at how to create a diet and lifestyle, supported by self-care practices, that aligns you with your innate healing nature.
We will also look at ways to connect your intuition or inner knowing so that it can be a powerful ally in healing from any kind illness and in helping you to live to your full potential.
During the 10 week course we will be exploring common illnesses including irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure, skin rashes, lower back pain, chronic fatigue, bronchitis, arthritis and migraine and how they can help bring us back to a place of authenticity and wholeness, drawing from Shaun’s experience as a holistic GP and Ayurveda therapist over the past 25 years.
