Introduction to Plant Based Nutrition

A plant based diet has enormous benefits to human health, the environment and sustainability. Leading nutritional and dietetic associations in the US, Australia and around the world regard plant based diets as complete. It is their and other scientific institutions' opinions that a well-planned plant based diet is rich in protein, iron, calcium and other essential vitamins and minerals which makes it appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence and for athletes.

The plant-based sources of nutrients tend to be low in saturated fat, high in fibre and crammed full of antioxidants, helping alleviate some of the modern world's biggest health issues like obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

In this workshop, you will cover enough to showcase the ease of following a plant based diet.  

A degustation of plant based breakfast, lunch and morning tea will be provided throughout the session.
