History

Built on a philosophy of diversity, dedication, passion and excellence in natural therapies education, Nature Care College was established in 1973.

Aptly named by founder Catherine McEwan, the college’s name comes from the term 'Nature Cure', which was used throughout Europe in the 18th century to describe Naturopathy. The attentive and nourishing concept of 'Care' replaced 'Cure' and Nature Care College was born!

Perhaps the most amazing aspect of Nature Care College is not just the dedication to quality education but also the ability to maintain its core principles, ethics and purpose over a 42-year history.

Building on the past to create the future Nature Care College has maintained its connection with its roots and continues to flourish and foster a unique sense of community where like-minded people gather with the common goal of living their passions and do something for themselves in order to benefit others and to make a difference.

It is this unique sense of community that has seen thousands of students and our dedicated trainers and staff call Nature Care College home over its 42 years.  This collective passion and commitment to learning and the student experience makes Nature Care College a very special place to be.  Such is the college’s s sense of community that a number of our staff and trainers have been part of the college for over 20 years.

From strong foundations with programs in Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Homoeopathy and Remedial Massage, Nature Care College has continued to lead the way in natural therapies education over the years and developed ground breaking programs in natural therapies, energy medicine and complementary therapies. The college now offers the most diverse range of professional training programs available in natural therapies education in Australia.

To cater for the expansion of programs and the college’s growing community Nature Care College has called a number of premises home over its 42 year history. From small beginnings in Artarmon, the college upsized to 79 Lithgow Street in 1994 and then, having outgrown these premises relocated the bright, modern campus of 46 Nicholson Street in 2006.

In 2016 the college will move to state of the art, purpose designed environmentally and ecologically friendly premises at 178 Pacific Highway, St Leonards.

We welcome you to join us at Nature Care College as we move into the future with a commitment to the core principles of creating the most positive, student focussed learning experience for you, with the highest quality education in our unique, passionate and committed community.
