Ayurvedic Medicine - An Introduction

Taught by Dr Shaun Mathews, a recognised leader in the field of Ayurveda and published author on the subject, Ayurvedic Medicine - An Introduction provides participants with an insight into the practice of Ayurveda, from ancient times through to how to easily and seamlessly incorporate these into their daily routines.

Fundamentally an energetic system of healing, with physical tools and techniques to bring about balance, Ayurveda works with a system of body types, referred to as doshas.

In Ayurvedic Medicine - An Introduction you will explore the traits and characteristic of the 3 doshas - Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and learn the dos and don'ts for your dosha and how to balance your Ayurvedic constitution and the body-mind using practical tools such as; food, kitchen herbs, daily routines and yogic practises.

Through a comprehensive look at the philosophy and principles of Ayurvedic Medicine you will also develop an understanding of unique Ayurvedic concepts such as "agni" and its relation to health, "ama", "prakriti" and the principles of the five Ayurvedic cleansing practices, referred to as "Panchakarma" and their health and wellbeing.
