According to the Heart Foundation, heart disease is the single biggest killer of Australians, but it can be prevented! This workshop will explore the benefits of a heart-healthy diet to reduce your risk of developing a heart disease, and identify specific foods to include if you have high cholesterol levels and/or hypertension

This workshop is for anyone interested in improving their diet and lifestyle in order to lower their risk of heart disease. It is valuable for student practitioners interested in preventive cardiology

About the facilitator – Dana Cohen

Dana Cohen is a practicing Nutritional Therapist with a passion for traditional diets, which she attributes to her Mediterranean upbringing.

Over the years, Dana has consistently been drawn back to her origins; eating simple, healthy, home-cooked local food, and even turning her love of food and health into her career.

Dana holds an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine at Nature Care College, as well as a Masters degree (MSc) in Personalised Nutrition at Middlesex University in London. She currently enjoys combining her work as a Nutritional Therapist in clinic, with teaching, researching and writing articles about nutrition and health.

testimonials

"I really enjoyed it! I'm still reading the course books now, it really opened my eyes to how the body processes food and how different foods make it function, which I wasn't really aware of before. I also liked that the assignments were based on your own life in a lot of ways, so you were forced to look at your diet and reflect on what you've learned..."
