Understanding Mental Health For Practitioners

As a practitioner of any modality, you may come across various mental health issues in your practice. In this workshop, you learn information & tools to assist you in understanding different mental health conditions.

  • Define psychosis
  • Understand the aetiology, signs and symptoms of schizophrenia
  • Understand the definition of an organic brain disorder
  • Recognise the characteristics of dementia and Alzheimer's disease
  • Understand the definition of an eating disorder
  • Identify the characteristics of some common eating disorder
  • Recognise the impact of substance abuse in Australia
  • Define some common terms related to substance abuse
  • Identify some common illicit drugs
  • Discover some helpful website resources for substance abuse

Who is this workshop for?

This Understanding Mental Health workshop is suitable for health care workers who have completed Anatomy & Physiology Body Structure, Anatomy & Physiology Body Systems & Integrative Anatomy & Physiology.

Participants receive a certificate upon completion.
