Reflexology and Oncology Care

During this hands on workshop, participants will learn techniques, gain knowledge and confidence to provide a comprehensive treatment when working with cancer patients, at all stages of oncology care.

This workshop is recommended for Reflexologists interested to expand their practice and explore how reflexology can be used to support cancer patients. 

In this hands on session you will gain:

  • An understanding of Integrative medicine and reflexology?s role in oncology care
  • Insight into improving a patient?s emotional and psychological well being
  • Knowledge of how to apply different reflexology techniques for symptom management of various cancers and their side effects
  • How to support cancer patients at the different stages of their disease

About the facilitator "Gretel Spiegel"

Gretel is a Clinical Reflexologist to the Chris O?Brien Lifehouse, a designated cancer treatment hospital, to provide clinical reflexology to patients at all stage of cancer. She is also conducting a reflexology pilot study into the feasibility of reflexology alleviating symptoms of anxiety whilst receiving chemotherapy infusions.

Gretel is a past Director and current member of the Reflexology Association of Australia and Australian Traditional Medicine Society member. In addition to her work as a Clinical Reflexologist, Gretel has also conducted natural therapies workshops for the corporate community, as well as working as a trainer and clinical supervisor in reflexology at Nature Care College.
