Advanced Diploma of Integrative Natural Health (Naturopathy)

This naturopathy qualification is geared towards those wishing to practice as a naturopath with a holistic approach.

The Advanced Diploma of Integrative Natural Health (Naturopathy)  incorporates studies in all the major natural therapies and complementary medicine modalities including; nutrition, western herbal medicine and traditional naturopathic tools, which are supported with studies in medical sciences and professional practice studies.

What are the requirements to practice?

Nature Care College Advanced Diploma of Integrative Natural Health will enable you to gain access to insurance and start practicing. Our Advanced Diploma course is a work ready qualification approved by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), where graduates are eligible to register for their insurance, as well as the Australian Committee of Natural Therapies (ACONT), where graduates are eligible for discounted Public Liability insurance and the ability to sell TGA Schedule 1 products to clients.  

If your purpose of study is to practice, then a Nature Care College Advance Diploma will enable you to practice and enter the industry as a confident practitioner and at an affordable price.

Do I need to outsource my clinical training?

The College campus has an established in-house Wellness Centre where students put their theory into practice during their final year of study treating members of the public under the supervision of experienced clinical practitioners. In our busy Wellness Centre, students treat patients with preventative health care solutions to improve well-being and patients with existing health conditions. Exposure to such depth of clinical experience and expertise provides students with the confidence to graduate as work ready practitioners.

For on-line students who reside interstate, the college also has a network of qualified practitioners to access for clinical training.

Is there flexibility and can I choose my own study schedule?

Providing work-life-study balance with flexibility is a key feature of all study programs at the College. Anatomy & Physiology Body Structure

Description: A fundamental component of all major modalities, this subject will teach you an overview of the fundamental Anatomy of Body Structures. This course will focus on the anatomy of the external body structures including the skin and accessory structures, bones of the skeleton, joints and the skeletal muscles.

Anatomy & Physiology 1B - Body Systems

Description: This unit of study introduces you to the structure and function of the following body systems: integumentary, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, digestive and respiratory. Appreciate the miracle of human existence!

Anatomy & Physiology 1C

This unit of study integrates your knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology 1A & 1B, increasing your understanding of a wide range of body functions. Subjects studied include the anatomy and physiology of stress, sleep, consciousness, memory, emotions and behaviour.


Bach Flower Remedies

Description: This unit of study is an introduction to the subtle healing system by Dr Edward Bach for treating negative states of mind and emotions. You will learn about the 38 unique remedies, including how to prescribe and dispense them.

Biomedical Science A

Description: Time to explore the microcosm in detail! With an emphasis on organic chemistry, this unit of study is essential in helping you understand the human condition at a cellular level. The unit describes the structure of chemical substances and interactions of these substances as they relate to biochemical processes within the human body.

Business Skills For Healthcare Practitioners

Description: This unit of study will describe the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a healthcare setting with clients, staff, visitors, suppliers and others. You will acquire skills and knowledge to implement and monitor compliance with legal and ethical requirements, skills and knowledge required to arrange referrals to other health care professionals and to provide administration for a clinical health practice.

Clinical Practice 1A (Nat/Herbs)

These lectures will enable you to consolidate your knowledge of medical sciences and naturopathic protocols; aiming to assist you in solving problems, emulating the methods used by naturopaths and herbalists in their own clinics. Focusing on those health complaints commonly encountered in early practice. This subject involves a considerable amount of home study.

Foundations of Nutrition A

Description: In this stimulating unit of study you will gain a solid understanding of the concepts of naturopathic nutrition. You will be introduced to the macronutrients, including their role in absorption, metabolism and diet and will also study nutrient values, specific food
groups and the effects of processing on foods. This unit of study will enable you to identify appropriate dietary modification and negotiate dietary changes according to an individual’s particular requirements.

Description: Welcome to the wonderful world of Herbal Medicine! This one-year Unit of Study introduces the philosophy and science of herbalism in its historical perspective. You will explore the materia medica, learn about the therapeutic effects, constituents,
preparation and usage of plants as medicine.

Iridology 1A

Description: Learn to identify and interpret the various iris signs that give insight into our health inheritance and potential. Once learned, this highly effective assessment tool will complement and enhance other healing modalities. Analysis of iris photographs taken in class will also give students a greater understanding of their own health inheritance and potential. Step by step sequencing of all theory and practical work takes place from foundational through to intermediate concepts.
